It's my birthday!!! While I could spend this time basking in my own greatness, I would like to spend this time focused on you. Every year my family and friends ask me what I want for my birthday. Usually I tell them nothing. There are a lot of things I can ask for, but I choose not to ask. However, this year is a little different. I am finally at a place in my journey that I am truly happy. My body may be tired from all of the running around that I do, but I am still happy that I am able to do those things.
In my reflections, I realized that God did not have to let me see this day. The course of history could have been changed and I could have been sleeping in my grave. See that's a shouting moment because it is by the grace of God that I am able to celebrate my birthday today. So you may be wondering what I asked for on my birthday. I asked for you.
I asked that God would look down upon you and bless you. I ask that God would love on you and you to love on Him. I ask that your faith, though it may only be a mustard seed, would be strong enough to move mountains. I asked that you reverence God in all that you do and put Him first every day. I asked that your children be blessed, your family be blessed, your finances be blessed, your ministries, your church, your job, your health, your mind, your body, your everything be blessed.
I asked that God would grant me a song to encourage you to press on. I know the day seems long and the nights are cold, but your tears are only temporary. You know the old hymn: weeping may endure for a night, but joy come in the morning. The morning light is coming, so get your sun shades ready! I asked that your joy be on it's way.
And finally, I request that you would share God's love with someone else. It does not matter how you share God, as long as you share Him. God has more in store for you, you just have to trust that He will never leave you nor forsake you. I pray that my birthday request falls on good ground and that your lives are blessed beyond measures.
