Two post in one day does not happen often, but I have a lot to say today.
Physical abuse is always the last sign of domestic violence. It never starts with a slap, but it will end with a bang. This post is not just for the ladies because men can be victims too. There are many forms of abuse, but it all boils down to a power and control issue. Abusers want power over you. They need to feel in control at all times.
No one, but God, should ever have control over your life. God created Eve as a helpmate to Adam. Adam did not have control over Eve. They worked together. Yes, she was submissive to him, but he was not dominant over her. Ladies (and gents) you have the power to change your situation.
God loves you so much and wants you to free you from bondage. You must first stop making excuses for your abuser. God does not put us in situations to hurt us. Relationships become toxic because we allow man to dictate our thoughts and actions. God is the one who can save you, heal you, and give you agape love. That man may have loved you at one time, but his love has become distorted and his selfish need of power has overturned his love. God's love is pure. It cannot be destroyed by man. It cannot be distorted by worldly views.
That man/woman who feels they only way they can make you understand is not the one for you. You are more than a black eye. It is not your partner/spouse's responsibility to chastise you or whip you into shape. You are nobodies puppet. You are not their child. You are a woman/man. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are smart. You are worth more. God created you in His image and likeness. Why would He want to mess up His creation? Why would He want to destroy His creation? God wants to help you. He gives us free will to choose to serve Him. Let God be the one to take away your burdens. God loves you. I cannot say this enough! God loves you. God loves you. God loves you, but you have to also love yourself. You have to want His everlasting joy and peace. You have to want His loving arms to surround you and hold you. You have to want Him and only Him to take care of you.
Everything man touches can be destroyed, but God's love and His word will stand forever. There is always a ram in the bush and a way of escape. Just like the abuser cannot change you, you cannot change the abuser. I say this all with love....Give it to God and get out!
