Greetings fellow readers,
This has definitely been a day like no other. Scratch that. It has been a test of my faith. Around this time last year, God placed Habakkuk 2:2-4 in my spirit. At that time, I was working on a project that was supposed to be completed by the end of the year. Needless to say, I have not completed it. God was not through with me yet. Every now and then I come back to this passage and meditate on it.
2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. 4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.
This morning, God began dealing with me again. I was not sure why this scripture kept coming in my head. All I knew was that I had to read it and just be patient. As I was walking from the post office on campus, it hit me. The vision was becoming clearer. The direction God is pointing me will be one that will enrich the lives of many others.
Now, I cannot tell you what the vision is because He is still revealing it to me. As it states in verse 3, the vision is yet for an appointed time. It is not something I am to do now, but something that will be fulfilled later. My appointed time is next year. The exact date is unknown at this point. Prayerfully I will have all the details soon. I just have to be patient and wait for it to come.
As you continue to seek God, pray for the vision and purpose God has on your life. Ask God to reveal it to you piece by piece. It is not for you to know the end, but so that you can prepare yourself for the appointed time. Our vision for our lives is not always God's vision. We want what we want, but are not willing to put in the work to get it. Patience now is far more important than riches later.
If God has not revealed it to you, then wait. When God feels that you are ready, He will tell you. Once God gives you the vision, write it down. Things are more concrete and goals become more realistic. Think of it like this, no dream can be fulfilled if there is no evidence of the dream.
The lesson in all of this: When God speaks, listen. When God gives instruction, listen carefully and write it down. Once it's written, take the necessary steps to making His vision for your life come true.
Thank you God for the vision you gave me and the clarity I received today. Thank you for giving my life purpose and being patient with me while I fulfill Your purpose for my life. Amen.
Thanks, Kelli. I know what I need to do now.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelli. Your words are very inspirational! It is difficult for me at times to always feel like I am leading a life full of purpose. I try to do good things and work hard but at the end of the day sometimes I still get discouraged. I want to make an impact on this world and truly help people, but how can I do that if I am constantly facing my own battles of depression and self-consciousness. I just hope that God can give me strength to overcome any of my shortcomings and allow me to do good things even when I am lost myself.
ReplyDeleteLaura Brooks :)) Love you Kelli!
Laura,
DeleteI'm glad I could inspire you. At times, life's challenges can discourage us from fulfilling our purpose. These are the times when we need to pray harder. You are making an impact on this world and will one day be able to share your story with the world.
God says to cast your cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7). This includes your worries, fears, depression, and self-consciousness. God is going to move in your life and has many bountiful blessings for you. It is up to you to trust Him and believe that He is God and can make the impossible, possible.
"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4.
"My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ," Colossians 2:2
Even on your darkest days, God is still lighting the way.
Kelli, this is exactly what I needed to read. Joe is about to graduate, so he is really stressed out with what he is going to do when he gets out. I am definitely going to share this with him as well. Also, along those lines, I have been really stressing on where I am going to live when he graduates, since I stay with him right now. I have no idea what is going to happen when he is gone, as well as how my job is going to provide in the whole rent area. So, thank you. I really needed this.
