My Genesis

Every year people make countless resolutions to get their lives together. They make plans to exercise more, eat better, be nicer, get married, have kids, buy houses, sell houses, break up and make up.  At what point do you decide to start living in January, instead of continuing to live by faith?  January is considered the beginning of the year. Some would debate that Sunday is the end of the week, but I beg to differ.

Many of you know Genesis as the 1st book of the Bible.  It also means....the origin or formation of something.  My Genesis does not always start on January 1st of each year.  Sometimes it starts on the 23rd, 29th, or on December 1st.  Your genesis starts when you decide to stop living by resolutions and walking in your truth.

This is not to say that you don't need to have goals and a vision.  It is to say that you will allow your faith to be your guiding force rather than the fear of failure.  I made the decision not to make any resolutions this year.  So far, so good.  I did not want my year to start off with empty promises, needless stress of not completing them, and guilt for not living up to whatever standard others have set.

I ask you to look at your genesis.  When did your origin start?  Was it your birth date?  Maybe it was when you fell in love.  Or was it when you made the conscious decision to walk by faith and not by sight.
